Who can take part
- You have newly diagnosed (de novo) ALL that is Philadelphia chromosome–negative (Ph-negative)
- You are age 14 to 60, and can be either male or female
- Your leukemia is “standard type” ALL (not Burkitt lymphoma/leukemia and not an unclear leukemia type)
- Your body can handle treatment: blood tests and organ tests are within required limits (kidney, liver, heart, pancreas enzymes, and electrolytes)
- You do not have certain recent or ongoing problems: no pregnancy/breastfeeding, no uncontrolled serious infection, and no recent major bleeding or blood clots
- You can do the study activities: you have an ECOG performance status of 0 to 2 (roughly meaning you’re up and about most of the day) and you can give written informed consent
