N-acetylcysteine for autism behaviors in children

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 3 years and 12 years 11 months old
  • Your child has a confirmed autism diagnosis using standard autism checklists and observations
  • Autism behaviors like repetitive routines or intense restricted interests are at least moderate
  • Your child is still in early puberty stage (prepubescent)
  • Your child’s medicines and behavioral/therapy supports have been stable for at least 30–60 days and will likely stay the same
  • A caregiver can speak and read English well enough for study instructions
