This study collects medical information and specimens to support research on problems with hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language. It may help you (or your child) get additional evaluation and follow-up through NIDCD, especially if your clinician thinks it could be useful.

Who can take part
- Be age 2 or older if any procedures or treatment are needed
- Have (or be at risk for) an ear, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, or language disorder
- Be willing for an NIDCD doctor to review whether study follow-up is in your best interest
- You (or your parent/guardian if under 18) can sign consent to join
- Optional: if you’re suspected to have PIEZO2-related sensory issues, you may be asked to do remote taste and mouth-sensation testing
- For the optional taste part only: avoid recent mouth surgery, open mouth sores, or significant mouth pain
