Who can take part

  • You are 22–90 years old and have two-sided (bilateral) balance nerve problems confirmed by a specialist.
  • Balance problems have not improved enough after more than 1 year of balance rehabilitation (physical therapy).
  • Your inner-ear problem looks like severe damage to the balance system (not only from other brain/nerve or middle-ear diseases).
  • Your head/brain imaging shows your balance nerves and “spaces” in the inner ear needed for surgery are present, with no tumors causing the issue.
  • You can travel to the study site, complete the required tests, and do the prescribed home balance exercises.
  • You are able to follow major safety rules during the study (for example, no swimming and no operating vehicles or heavy machinery while enrolled).
