Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be in the emergency department with suspected asthma flare-up
  • After a first terbutaline (beta-2) nebulizer treatment, still have at least one sign of not improving (like fast breathing, low oxygen, low peak flow, or severe effort to breathe)
  • Have not had an asthma flare-up in the past 30 days
  • Be able to give informed consent yourself (no legal guardian/curator involved)
  • Be able to receive beta-2 medicine (terbutaline) and the study’s oxygen treatment
