Who can take part

  • You had an ischemic stroke (a blocked blood vessel in the brain) 12 months to 6 years ago
  • You still have lasting weakness or trouble controlling one arm/hand after that stroke
  • No other stroke (before or after) that left you with ongoing arm problems
  • Brain imaging should not show major involvement of the brainstem, cerebellum, or thalamus
