Who can take part

  • You had your first (and only) stroke between 1 and 3 years ago.
  • The stroke was on one side of your brain and caused by a blocked artery (not bleeding). It did not affect your cerebellum, thalamus, or brainstem.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have moderate to severe weakness in one arm and hand, but you can still move it a little (like bending your elbow or fingers).
  • You do not have major memory problems (like dementia or a score below 25 on a thinking test).
