High-intensity walking training for recent brain injury

Who can take part

  • You had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) within the last 6 months
  • You are at least 18 years old and can follow instructions
  • You can walk about 10 feet with help from no more than two people and/or a brace or assistive device
  • Your walking speed is below 1.4 meters per second
  • You can safely do treadmill training: your doctor says you’re cleared, and skin where the harness touches is intact
  • You score at least 20 on the O-Log (a measure of awareness/cognitive readiness)
