Who can take part

  • You are scheduled to have coronary artery bypass grafting (heart bypass surgery).
  • You are older than 19 years.
  • Your planned bypass will use the left internal chest artery and a leg vein (saphenous vein).
  • The surgery is not an emergency operation.
  • No other major procedures are planned at the same time (like heart valve or aorta surgery).
  • The study team must be able to use both the chest artery and the leg vein for the graft.
