Testing a treatment plan for higher-risk testicular cancer

Non-Seminomatous Germ Cell Tumor

Who can take part

  • Be a man age 16 or older when you sign consent
  • Have non-seminomatous germ-cell tumor (NSGCT) confirmed by biopsy or strongly suggested by blood tests (hCG/AFP)
  • Have cancer that has spread (stage II or III) and is considered “poor risk” by set blood/clinical criteria
  • Cancer must have started in the testicle, lower belly (retroperitoneum), or chest (mediastinum)
  • Have enough kidney, bone marrow, and liver health on lab tests (kidney clearance over 60 mL/min; blood counts adequate; bilirubin not too high)
  • Agree to birth-control during the study and for 6 months after the last treatment
