Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You had spinal deformity surgery
  • Your hemoglobin (blood level) is low on the first day after surgery (or dropped by 20+ g/L from before surgery)
  • You can and do give voluntary informed consent
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy
  • You do not have certain exclusions like serious iron allergy, non-iron anemia causes, active infection, or recent participation in another trial
