This trial studies whether selinexor combined with azacitidine and venetoclax can treat newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in people who may not be able to tolerate intensive chemotherapy. Who can take part

  • You are an adult (age 18 or older) with newly diagnosed AML
  • Your doctor says you are not a good candidate for intensive chemotherapy, or you refuse it
  • You have either age 75+ or specific health issues that make intensive chemotherapy unsafe (such as heart, lung, or kidney problems, or lower activity level)
  • Your liver and kidney tests meet the study limits (for example, enough kidney function and acceptable bilirubin/AST/ALT levels)
  • You have not had prior AML treatment (except hydroxyurea for symptom control)
  • You do not have certain infections or brain involvement from AML (no known HIV, active hepatitis B/C, or AML in the central nervous system)
