Dialysis-focused treatment study for newborn high ammonia

Hyperammonemic Encephalopathy

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be under 1 year old
  • Your baby must have severe, sudden (acute) high ammonia levels
  • Doctors must decide that urgent blood-washing (hemodialysis) is needed right away
  • The cause must be an inherited metabolic condition (inborn error of metabolism)
  • You cannot enroll if the baby is older than 1 year
