Intracranial stent for narrowed brain arteries after symptoms

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • Your brain artery narrowing is considered “atherosclerotic” (plaque buildup) and has caused symptoms despite antiplatelet therapy, or blood flow is poor
  • Your last TIA was any time ago, but the last ischemic stroke must be more than 2 weeks ago
  • Imaging shows a single narrowed spot in specific large brain arteries (internal carotid, middle cerebral, vertebral, or basilar) with vessel size and lesion length in the allowed ranges
  • The narrowing is about 70% to 99%, and you have at least one risk factor like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking, or obesity
  • Your function before enrollment is good enough (mRS 2 or less), and you can attend follow-up visits and tests
