Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 75 years old (or 18 to 40 if you’re in the keratoconus group)
- You must be in a group that fits your body area: healthy eyes, healthy skin, healthy gums, or mild/moderate keratoconus
- If you’re joining the healthy eye group: no history of eye disease, and no prior eye surgeries
- Avoid if you have diabetes or a family history of glaucoma, or if you’re allergic to numbing eye drops (especially proparacaine)
- For the skin and gum groups: no open cuts/sores, infections, or contagious conditions where they’ll test
- For the keratoconus group: your “K-max” measurement must be 60 or lower (on Pentacam), and you must have mild/moderate keratoconus
