Who can take part

  • You are currently hospitalized with worsening heart failure that is the main reason for admission
  • You have signs of fluid overload (high EVEREST score of 4 or more)
  • Your heart’s pumping function is very reduced but still above a cutoff (left ventricular ejection fraction over 15%)
  • Your water pills (diuretics) have not worked well enough
  • Your blood marker NT-proBNP is above the study’s age-based cutoff
  • You do not have any major exclusions like serious infection, severe liver damage, or certain blood/bleeding problems
