Who can take part

  • You have had a stroke within the last 21 days (for the stroke group)
  • You are 18 to 90 years old
  • A brain scan shows your stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic)
  • You must be able to follow instructions and do the hand/arm tasks
  • You need to be able to have an MRI (if you cannot, you may not qualify)
  • You should not have certain conditions like severe language or thinking problems that block participation
