Who can take part
- You’re at least 18 years old.
- Your stroke happened within 24 hours before the procedure started (from when you were last known well).
- Before this stroke, you were functioning pretty independently (mRS 0–2).
- Your initial stroke severity is moderate to severe (NIHSS 6 or higher) and your scan looks less affected (ASPECTS 6 or higher).
- The clot is in one side of the brain’s main artery (middle cerebral artery), and clot removal worked well (eTICI 2b–3).
- MRI is safe for you, and there were no major procedure complications that prevented safe balloon use.
