Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have locally advanced esophageal cancer and are being considered for conventional radiation therapy (RT) for more than 4 weeks.
- You can read, understand, and sign an informed consent form.
- You can safely have an MRI scan (no MRI safety issues).
- You can receive gadolinium contrast if needed, and you can lie flat (on your back) for at least 60 minutes.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You do not have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator.
- You can tolerate being in the MRI scanner despite enclosed-space feelings (not severe claustrophobia).
