Who can take part

  • You are currently diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).
  • You have not improved after trying at least two antidepressants at the right dose and for long enough during this current episode.
  • Your depression medications have been stable for at least 1 month.
  • You do not have conditions that make magnetic stimulation unsafe (such as epilepsy, brain lesions, prior brain surgery, metal implants, or certain heart devices).
  • You have not had alcohol or substance use disorder in the last 6 months, and you are not having a current intoxication or withdrawal issue.
  • If you have a seizure history in you or your close family (first-degree relatives), you may not qualify; pregnancy/breastfeeding also excludes participation.
