Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a current diagnosis of major depressive disorder (unipolar, not bipolar).
  • You have tried at least two different antidepressants or 12 sessions of therapy without success.
  • Your depression is moderate to severe (a score >19 on a standard depression rating scale).
  • Your antidepressant medication has been stable (same dose) for at least 6 weeks before starting the trial.
  • You can attend treatment sessions for 15 days in a row (about 90 minutes each day) and complete evaluations.
