This trial tests a “neurofeedback” training program using a special light-sensing cap (fNIRS) to help improve balance and walking in people with Parkinson’s disease. You may also do guided walking practice mentally (imagery training), and your ability to walk and balance will be measured.

Who can take part
- Have a neurologist-confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease that is “idiopathic,” and be in Hoehn and Yahr stage under 4
- Have a stable (unchanged or steady) Parkinson’s medical condition
- Be able to walk independently (no walking devices); for part 2, you must be able to walk for 10 minutes
- Score at least 24 on the MMSE memory/cognitive test (below 24 likely means you cannot join)
- Be able to do motor imagery (mentally practice movement) as measured by the KVIQ score of at least 25
