Who can take part

  • You have new, sudden chest pain that brings you to the emergency room
  • Your doctors are considering acute coronary syndrome (heart-related causes) as a possibility
  • You are willing and able to sign written consent after learning about the study
  • Your ECG does not show major ST elevation (more than 1 mm) on two nearby leads
  • Your vital signs are stable (not dangerously high/low blood pressure and not very fast heart rate)
  • You can safely do the scan—no pacemaker/defibrillator, no unsafe metal implants, and you can lie still
