Pulmonary Valve Insufficiency

This study tests whether a new type of heart valve made from your own tissue (an “autologous” valve) can be placed through a catheter safely in adults with leaking and pressure-related problems in the lung heart valve area. If it works well, it could offer a safer option for people who need treatment for pulmonary valve problems.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Doctors must be able to use enough suitable body tissue for the valve (often from the pericardium; other approved tissue sites may work)
  • Heart scans (echocardiogram and/or heart MRI) show specific lung valve measurements, such as significant leaking, high pressure/gradient across the valve area, and/or specific right-heart weakness or enlargement
  • Your right heart pumping function is reduced (right ventricular ejection fraction under 40%) or your right heart size is high (right ventricular end-diastolic volume over 150 ml/m²)
  • You can sign written consent before any study procedures start
