Who can take part
- Be 18 years or older and able to consent in writing
- Live in the Calgary, Alberta area
- For patient groups: have upper stomach symptoms that fit functional dyspepsia or a nausea/vomiting disorder, or have gastroparesis proven by a gastric scan
- BMI must be over 35 if you are in the patient group (healthy controls must have no GI symptoms or GI conditions)
- Do not be pregnant and do not have current stomach or bowel infections, inflammatory bowel disease, or stomach cancer
