Who can take part

  • Be an adult age 18 or older.
  • Be in an ICU now with continuous heart monitoring and at least one ICU need like breathing support, strong medicines to support blood pressure, or a recent cardiac arrest.
  • Breathing support or heart-support medicines must be expected to last more than 24 hours.
  • You should NOT already have atrial fibrillation at the time you would enroll.
  • You must not have already received more than 18 hours of ICU breathing/heart-support treatments before enrollment.
