- You had a cardiac arrest and your heartbeat returned within the last 2 hours.
- You are between 18 and 85 years old.
- Your heartbeat was sustained for at least 20 minutes after it returned.
- You were not awake and able to follow simple commands within the first hour after your heartbeat returned.
- Your medical team does not plan to withdraw life support within the first 3 days.
