Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older and speak English
  • You have atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter with a heart rate of 120 beats per minute or higher
  • You are currently being treated with metoprolol for heart rate control
  • You are conscious and able to understand and sign consent forms
  • Your blood pressure is stable (not dangerously low)
  • You do not have a serious heart attack, acute heart failure, or myasthenia gravis
