Who can take part

  • You’re 18 years or older
  • You’re having planned (elective) maxillomandibular fixation jaw surgery under general anesthesia
  • A breathing tube is placed through the nose (nasal endotracheal intubation) for the surgery
  • You are not pregnant
  • Your BMI is between 18.5 and 35
  • You do not have major breathing, heart, nerve/muscle, or swallowing risk conditions
