Who can take part

  • You’re between 0 and 80 years old (any gender).
  • You have been diagnosed with an “irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation” using pre-surgery scans and a skull-traction test.
  • You are considered a candidate for surgery after the traction test (not just watched or treated another way).
  • You (or your legal representative) can give consent to join the study.
  • You should not have serious conditions that could interfere with surgery, like certain infections or cancer spread (malignant metastasis).
