Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and can give informed consent
  • You have ADPKD confirmed by kidney imaging and/or genetic testing, and your kidney filter rate is at least moderately reduced (estimated GFR ≥30)
  • Your blood bicarbonate is low (25 or less) and you have metabolic acidosis
  • If you can become pregnant, you are not pregnant and you will use reliable birth control during the study and for 30+ days after stopping
  • You must not be allergic to atorvastatin or sodium bicarbonate
  • You must not have certain serious conditions (like significant liver or muscle problems) and must avoid specific prohibited medications during the study
