Preventing blood clots during first chemotherapy for germ cell tumors

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older and have a germ cell tumor with “good” or “intermediate” outlook
  • Your cancer team thinks you can safely start first-line cisplatin-based chemotherapy
  • You have not had any prior chemotherapy drugs that affect the whole body
  • You must be able to sign consent and attend study visits and procedures
  • You must have the required health coverage through the social security system
  • If you are assigned to the clot-risk group: you may need blood test, body size, or lymph node size details showing higher clot risk
