Who can take part
- Be age 65 to 85
- Be an English-speaking patient seen at the UNC Geriatrics Medicine clinic
- Have at least one long-term medical condition (common examples include diabetes, arthritis, heart failure, COPD, depression, stroke, cancer, kidney disease, and more)
- Have no diagnosis of dementia
- Screen negative for weakness (a specific questionnaire must be below a set cutoff)
- Be able and willing to give consent and complete study tasks; major uncontrolled mental illness and end-of-life care are not allowed
