Early empagliflozin for shock patients after ICU start

Cardiogenic Shock

Treatments studied

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial studies whether starting empagliflozin early in adults with cardiogenic shock helps people live longer and have fewer hospital returns, while also checking heart pumping and kidney function. It may help some ICU patients, but eligibility is strict and depends on kidney function and prior medication use.

Empagliflozin's effect on small blood vessels in cardiogenic shock

This study looks at whether empagliflozin, a diabetes medicine, helps improve blood flow in tiny blood vessels for people in cardiogenic shock. If it helps, it could improve recovery for people with this serious heart condition.

Testing empagliflozin for heart and kidney health

This trial tests if the drug empagliflozin can improve kidney function in people hospitalized with heart failure who also develop acute kidney injury. It may help protect the kidneys while treating the heart condition.

Empagliflozin for heart failure and end-stage kidney disease

This trial tests whether empagliflozin, a medication for heart failure, can help people who also have end-stage kidney disease and are on dialysis. It aims to see if the drug improves heart function in this group.

SGLT2 medicine for high-risk people after sudden worsening heart failure

This Phase 3 trial tests whether starting an SGLT2 inhibitor early in the hospital can improve outcomes for people at high risk after acute (sudden) heart failure. If you qualify, you would be randomized to receive the study medicine or standard care, started within 12 hours of admission.

Continuing empagliflozin during heart failure hospitalizations

This study tests whether continuing empagliflozin (a heart failure medicine) during a hospital stay for heart failure is beneficial compared to stopping it. Participation may help improve recovery and reduce complications.
