Isokinetic strength training for knee control after stroke

Who can take part

  • You’ve had a stroke that affected one side of your body (weakness on one side).
  • Your stroke is in the subacute stage (under 6 months) or chronic stage (over 6 months).
  • You’re between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You can walk 10 meters on your own without a cane/walker or other assistive device.
  • During walking, your knee shows a “thrust” (a quick backward-to-straight knee movement) during the stance phase.
  • You can join a scheduled rehab program that includes isokinetic strength training.
