Who can take part
- You agree to the study in writing after learning about it (signed informed consent).
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You have confirmed sickle cell disease (HbSS or HbS beta-zero), proven by a blood test, and it’s stable.
- In the past 60 days before consent, you either did not receive a blood transfusion, or your blood test does not show Hb A.
- Your blood and organ tests are within study limits (including minimum hemoglobin, neutrophils, and platelets).
