Brain-targeting study of ketamine response in treatment-resistant depression

Who can take part

  • You are right-handed (using the Edinburgh Handedness test).
  • You are currently experiencing depression, with a screening score above 17.
  • Your depression has not improved after trying one or more appropriate antidepressant medications.
  • You meet criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD) based on a structured interview.
  • If you’ve used ketamine before, it must have helped reduce your depression symptoms; if not, you may not qualify for this part.
  • For the week before each MRI scan, you will avoid caffeine and avoid alcohol/drugs (as instructed by the team).
