Who can take part
- You are 18 to 70 years old and can understand the study and consent to testing
- You have major depression without hallucinations or other psychotic symptoms
- Your depression score is high (MADRS 22 or more) and mania symptoms are low (YMRS under 12)
- You’ve tried at least two antidepressant treatments without enough improvement, and this current episode lasts at least 4 weeks
- You must be willing to be hospitalized and complete the study’s later ketamine phase if you qualify
