Spinal cord stimulation for consciousness recovery after brain bleed

Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 65 years old
  • Have had a brain bleed and a consciousness problem for more than 28 days
  • Recent brain testing shows you meet criteria for a minimally conscious state (CRS-R/MCS)
  • Have a signed informed consent (from you or your legal representative)
  • Have no major other causes for the brain injury (for example, certain vessel problems, tumors, or carbon monoxide poisoning)
  • Be medically stable and not at high risk for re-bleeding or needing a breathing machine
