Who can take part
- Be between 18 and 50 years old
- If you’re in the pre-diabetes group: your OGTT result fits pre-diabetes (not normal)
- If you’re in the comparison group: your OGTT result is normal (not pre-diabetes)
- Avoid recent major weight change: no ≥5% weight loss or gain in the past 3 months
- Do not have certain past illnesses or test problems (for example, hepatitis or pancreatitis, or abnormal liver/kidney blood tests)
- Tell the team if you have any metal implants or devices like pacemaker leads, radioactive seeds, or surgical staples
