  • Be between 18 and 60 years old
  • Have prediabetes, meaning your blood sugar is higher than normal but not yet in the diabetes range
  • Not have any serious infections or major organ damage
  • No history of hepatitis or pancreatitis, and normal liver and kidney tests
  • No major weight changes or use of weight-changing medications in the last 3 months
  • No allergy to wheat or any other grain
