  • You are receiving hemodialysis (dialysis through a machine)
  • You currently take one of these VA pharmacy beta blockers: metoprolol, atenolol, labetalol, carvedilol, or bisoprolol
  • You (or someone legally allowed to make decisions for you) can give consent
  • You do not have a history of bad allergic reactions to either study medication
  • Your care team agrees to sign a new medication order if you are randomized
