Study collects blood to learn about inflammation in mental illness
Part of Mental health clinical trials.
This study collects biological samples to better understand how “inflammation” in the body may relate to certain mental health conditions. Your results may help doctors learn more about causes and future treatments, even if the study does not give a new drug.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.

This study looks at how the immune system, genetics, inflammation, and past exposures may relate to bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. It may help researchers understand the cause and find better ways to support people with these conditions.
This study looks at how social factors and blood markers relate to psychiatric symptoms in people with brain diseases or mental disorders. It aims to find new ways to understand and diagnose these conditions.
This trial tests a new medical device that uses a blood test to help doctors accurately diagnose bipolar disorder in people who were thought to have major depression. It aims to see if the device can tell the difference and improve treatment choices.
This study collects information about mental health symptoms and body/genetic samples to better understand how different mental health conditions are related. Some people may also have brain scans (PET or MRI) if they can safely complete them.
This study looks at how the immune system might be involved in brain and psychiatric conditions. They will compare people with such conditions to healthy controls, using blood tests and possibly a spinal tap to look for immune markers.
This study looks for a biological signature in the brain and blood to help doctors tell apart different types of psychosis early on. It may help people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression understand their condition better.
