Skipping lymph node surgery in early breast cancer

Breast CancerClinically Assessed Negative Axillary Lymph NodesSentinel Lymph Node

Part of Cancer, Skin clinical trials.

This trial studies whether you can safely avoid a lymph node biopsy in the armpit for early breast cancer when scans and exams look negative. It may reduce surgery-related side effects while still keeping cancer care on track.

NCT05939830Recruiting
Skipping axillary lymph node surgery after treatment response

This study looks at whether some breast cancer patients can safely skip a surgery that removes lymph nodes in the armpit after their initial (pre-surgery) treatment shows the armpit is likely clear. It may reduce surgical side effects if the armpit truly responds well.

Nanjing
NCT07370571Not yet recruiting
No armpit lymph node surgery for early breast cancer

This study tests whether it is safe and effective to skip surgery on the lymph nodes under the arm in people with early breast cancer that has not spread to those nodes. If you qualify, your breast cancer surgery would be the only surgical treatment you receive.

NCT06869629Recruiting
Avoiding armpit lymph node removal in breast cancer

This trial tests whether it is safe to skip removing lymph nodes from the armpit when cancer has spread there but has been found by ultrasound. If you have breast cancer that has spread to armpit lymph nodes and are not getting chemotherapy before surgery, this study may be an option.

Helsinki
NCT06259513Recruiting
Skipping armpit surgery for breast cancer patients

This trial tests whether it's safe to skip armpit surgery in older women with small, low-risk breast cancers. If you qualify, you would have a mastectomy without removing lymph nodes from your armpit.

Singapore
NCT07791771Not yet recruiting
Targeted lymph node biopsy to guide less axillary surgery

This study tests a way to decide whether women with early breast cancer and one or two affected lymph nodes can safely skip full lymph node removal. It uses a special biopsy to guide surgery and reduce side effects.

Beijing
NCT04225858Not yet recruiting
Skipping lymph node biopsy after chemotherapy for breast cancer

This trial tests if it's safe to skip a sentinel lymph node biopsy (a procedure to check if cancer has spread to the lymph nodes under your arm) when the breast tumor has completely disappeared after chemotherapy. If the trial finds it's safe, you could avoid this extra surgery and its side effects.
