Who can take part

  • You are a medical student in 4th to 6th year and are at the Strasbourg university hospital respirology department
  • You are 18 or older
  • You have never had a pleural procedure before (like thoracentesis or a chest tube)
  • If you are a patient: you need your first thoracentesis in routine care
  • If you are a patient: you are 18 or older, understand French, and agree in writing
  • If you are a patient: certain conditions must not apply (like very high/low fluid levels, poor tolerance, lidocaine allergy, local infection, or legal protection)
