Study drug R-2487 for people with active rheumatoid arthritis

Who can take part

  • You’re between 18 and 75 years old, and you can sign informed consent
  • You have active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) with enough symptoms for an RA diagnosis, plus joint swelling/tenderness
  • At screening you must have a high RA activity score (CDAI > 10) and at least 3 tender and 3 swollen joints (not counting fingertip joints)
  • You must be able to stay on certain RA medicines or be “washed out” from some recent RA treatments for the required time
  • If you take steroid pills by mouth, your dose must be stable and equivalent to 10 mg prednisone or less per day for at least 4 weeks
  • You must be willing to avoid vaccines during the study and use effective birth control if pregnancy is possible
