Who can take part

  • Your heart ultrasound shows mildly reduced pumping (LVEF under 50%)
  • Your ultrasound also meets a heart size limit (LV end-diastolic diameter under 56 mm)
  • Blood tests show heart injury (troponin about three times higher than normal)
  • Your heart symptoms started within the last 3 weeks
  • You can be randomized within 120 hours (5 days) after hospital admission
  • You do not have certain excluded causes of heart injury (for example, blocked heart arteries for people age 46+ after checking)
