Comparing immunotherapy to radiation after successful treatment for head and neck cancer

HNSCCRadiotherapyPD-1

Treatments studied

Part of Cancer clinical trials.

This trial looks at whether giving an immunotherapy drug (a PD-1 inhibitor) after surgery is better than giving radiation therapy for people with advanced head and neck cancer who had a complete response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy before surgery. The goal is to prevent the cancer from coming back.

Comparing 2 vs 4 rounds of chemo-immunotherapy before surgery for head and neck cancer

This trial tests whether 2 or 4 cycles of pembrolizumab (immunotherapy) plus carboplatin and nab-paclitaxel (chemotherapy) before surgery works better for people with advanced head and neck cancer that can be removed. The goal is to see if fewer treatments are just as effective.

Less extensive surgery after immunotherapy for advanced head and neck cancer

This trial compares a less extensive surgery to the standard surgery for patients with advanced head and neck cancer who have responded well to initial chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The goal is to see if a smaller operation can be just as effective while causing fewer side effects.

Comparing radiation vs. immunotherapy after surgery for mouth/throat cancer

This trial compares two approaches after initial treatment: radiation therapy versus an immunotherapy drug (PD-1 inhibitor) to see which better prevents cancer from coming back. It is for people with advanced oral or throat cancer who have already completed chemoimmunotherapy and surgery to remove all visible cancer.
