  • You are between 18 and 99 years old.
  • You need an epidural procedure (a needle placed in your lower back to numb or treat pain).
  • You have not had surgery on your lower back before.
  • You have no known problem with your spine that would make placing the needle difficult.
  • You do not have a tattoo where the needle would go in.
  • You are not allergic or have other medical reasons that prevent you from having an epidural.
