  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with achalasia based on symptoms, a swallowing test (HREM), and an X-ray with barium
  • You do not have metal implants in your head, a pacemaker, or other implanted devices near the treatment area
  • You are not pregnant and do not have a history of seizures or epilepsy
  • You have no conditions that prevent an MRI, such as claustrophobia
